Product overview

The HRV Live! uses cutting edge technology to give you the ability to measure parasympathetic and sympathetic activities and assess the autonomic balance in the body. It allows for design of the HRV evaluation protocols of any length to accommodate to any research or assessment needs. When monitoring, HRV Live! performs a full HRV analysis of the last 5 minutes of data and updates live displays every half a second.

HRV Live! provides a detailed analysis of recorded HRV data to show full dynamics of changes in the regulatory tonus of both the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems and autonomic balance over a prolonged period of time.

By measuring the heart's rhythmic patterns the HRV Live! system will give you accurate insight to your body’s self-regulation!

HRV Live! provides the means for continuous real-time monitoring and recording of the autonomic nervous system’s regulatory function. It is based on the standard short-term HRV analysis of heart rate (HR) data obtained from either an ECG recorder or a pulse wave sensor. HRV Live! provides detailed analysis of the recorded HRV data. The HRV Live! shows the full dynamics of change in the regulatory tonus of both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and autonomic balance over a prolonged period of time.

The HRV Live! software was developed according to the standards and mathematical procedures for short-term HRV analysis set forth by The European Society of Cardiology and The North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (1996).

HRV Live! software allows for unlimited monitoring and recording of raw signal (ECG or pulse wave), heart rate and HRV data. Later these records can be reviewed and edited. The software allows for creating unlimited number of event markers during data recording. Later those markers can be reviewed and multiple HRV profiles (single set of HRV data calculated on presset time interval - typically 5 minutes) associated with those markers derived from data recording. Unlimited number of special data picks can be created to derive similar HRV profiles. A special comparison report can be generated and printed out showing all details on all available HRV profiles showing absolute HRV readings as well as their respective % of change relative to preselected reference point. All data are displayed in both numerical and graphical formats.

HRV Live! Is used by Professionals:

  • Clinical Researchers
  • Stress Management Counselors
  • Alternative Therapy Specialists
  • Biofeedback Therapists
  • Physiology Class Teachers
  • Physical Occupational Recreational Therapists
  • Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Specialists

Supported Hardware:

  • Biocom HRM-02 pulse wave sensor
  • Biocom 3000 ECG recorder
  • ActiveECG® recorder (ActiveECG® is a trademark of Active Corporation)

Biocom HRM-02 is an ear-clip pulse wave sensor connected to PC via USB port.

Typically the ear-clip should be placed on earlobe.

In some cases when earlobe placement does not give good pulse wave signal the ear-clip can be placed on a finger.

Biocom 3000 ECG recorder is connected to PC via standard USB port.

Unlike many other ECG devices, Biocom 3000 unit is as simple in use as pulse wave sensor.

Biocom 3000 ECG recorder includes a signal cable with two electrode pads to be placed on wrists of both hands secured with elastic wristbands.

This ECG cable utilizes special large dry ECG electrodes that can be used many times.

ActiveECG device is a single-channel ECG recorder from Active Corporation.
This device uses standard off-the-shelf pre-gelled ECG electrodes providing ultimate quality of ECG recording.
The electrodes can be placed on both wrists or chest.
The ECG electrodes are disposable, so it will be customer's responsibility to obtain them.
The standard inexpensive ECG electrodes can also be purchased from Biocom Technologies.

HRV Live! software measures RR intervals, repetitively computes and updates HRV parameters every half of a seconf and displays measured data in various graphical forms. This allows for observing very dynamic details of functioning of the autonomic nervous system and its response in various stimuli.

Once HRV monitoring session is finished, all data is recorded for further review in every details using interactive and intuitive review screens. Special data pickers can be used to select portions of data to obtain multiple short-term HRV profiles for comparison.

All data segments selected by respective data pickers are analyzed and presented in the format of comparison report showing HRV data in both numeric ...

... and graphical formats.
